7 Things You Can Do To Achieve Fast Weight Loss For Kids

Are you a parent or guardian of an overweight child looking for effective but fast weight loss for kids who depend on you for happy healthy lives? Does it hurt you to see your child suffering because they are overweight? Your child doesn't have to suffer and neither do you. It is possible to help your child lose weight no matter how obese they may be.

As a parent of three children who were at one time obese I know how hard it can be for overweight children. My children were all born over 9 pounds and were constantly picked on in school because of their obesity. I found out how to help my children lose unwanted pounds and I know you can learn to help your child too.

Here are 7 things you can do to achieve fast weight loss for kids.

1. Replace soda and sugary drinks with water or juice. A lot of kids don't like to drink water but I found that my kids would actually drink the bottled water I bought from the store. You don't have to keep buying the bottled water from the stores, just keep the bottles and refill them with water from the sink or a water filter picture.

2. Replace cakes and cookies with fruits and vegetables. Yes, every child loves sweets, but oranges, apples and bananas can be just as good to them as cakes and cookies. If you want to obtain fast weight loss for your kids, you have to give up the sweets.

3. Keep carrot and celery sticks on hand at all times. This gives the kids something quick to grab when they want to munch on something.

4. Instead of the traditional 3 meals a day, go with 4 to 6 smaller, healthy meals to keep them from feeling hungry throughout the day. This may be hard to do when they go to school but try to do it on the week-ends and during the summer. When they get home from school you can give them a healthy snack and a light but healthy supper.

5. Try walking as a family for at least 20 - 30 minutes 3-6 evenings a week. Remember that smaller kids may get tired faster so try to adjust your speed and time for the little ones.

6. Replace sweetened cereals with less sweetened cereals such as cheerios and oatmeal. Oatmeal is good for the heart and they have a wide variety available in the stores. You can add raisins and/or bananas to oatmeal to make it even better.

7. Put on a fun exercise tape and have the kids work out with you. My children love to work out to the old Richard Simmons Dancing to the Oldies tapes. Doing something physical but fun is a great way to achieve fast weight loss for kids.

Remember when you are trying to help your kids, you have to set an example. Don't eat fattening foods in front of them, eat the healthy foods and exercise with them. If they see you doing it, they may want to join in.
